REVIEW: Fasta Pasta Microwave Cooker – Perfect Pasta Everytime
I’ll admit it, when I first was asked to do a review on the Fasta Pasta Microwave Cooker I was skeptical. After all, it’s an As Seen On TV product, complete with a ridiculous video of someone toiling to make pasta. Additionally, I’m not a fan of cooking items that have just one purpose and especially one that only works in the microwave.
But, after using it, I’m convinced that for people who live alone, are in a dorm room, or RV, it’s a perfect piece of kitchen equipment. And for $12.99, it’s not an expensive investment.
Our boys are grown and one is gone, the other is never here at dinner time, so I’m often just cooking for one or two of us. On hot summer days, I use the microwave almost exclusively. I’ve used the Fasta Pasta Cooker several times in the last few weeks, trying spaghetti and elbow macaroni. Both cooked beautifully, did not boil over, and allowed me to cook without adding additional heat into the room.
Sure, I could have pulled out a pot, but I do have boil over issues which means cleaning my ceramic stove top afterward. What a pain! I also would have had to get off my deck chair to check on the pasta. With the Fasta Pasta Cooker I just filled the water to the marked level, added the pasta, salt, a drop of oil and put it in the microwave for the time specified. That’s it! When it was done I popped on the lid and drained it. So simple.
It turns out you can cook other things in the Fasta Pasta. I received a cookbook with full meals, all that can be done in about 20 minutes or so, including desserts. I’ve not had time to try any of the recipes but there were several that looked fabulous.
Here’s a video done by ABC about the company and the Chinese knockoffs – the real Fasta Pasta Microwave Cooker is made in the USA
Enjoy!
